Of all Ethiopia's
regions, the west remains the least know and the least
explored by travelers. Thought lacking the historical
attractions of the north & east and the wildlife of the
south, the region is still rich in both culture and natural
beauty.

Gentile hills, fertile
valleys, montage forest and little streams make up most of the area;
birdlife & wild life about, and fruit crops, & vegetables seem to grow
from every corner. As you wind your way through the west, the region
seems like an Ethiopian Arcadia.
The area, Specifically the
province of keffa, is also said to be the original home of coffee.
Coffee grows primarily in the region of keffa and the name coffee
arrived from keffa. It was this plant that was responsible for opening
up the once almost impenetrable region. it is easy to see quite a lot of
coffee still grows.
